Control Lyrics

Here I am, all my intentions

All my obsessions, I wanna lay them all down

In Your hands, only Your love is vital

Though I’m not entitled

Still You call me Your child

God, You don’t need me, but somehow You want me

Oh, how You love me, somehow that frees me

To take my hands off of my life and the way it should go

Oh, God, You don’t need me, but somehow You want me

Oh, how You love me, somehow that frees me

To open my hands up and give You control

I give You control

I’ve had plans shattered and broken

Things I have hoped in, fall through my hands

You have plans to redeem and restore me

You’re behind and before me

Oh, help me believe

You want me

Somehow You want me

The King of Heaven wants me

So this world has lost its grip on me

Oh, give You control

Oh, I want to give You control

I give You control

  • Connie Myers says:

    Uplifting and filled with hope.

  • priscilla says:

Sounds like this could have been my brother Tim’s song. He departed this world the last Wednesday of May (fatal accident). So many awesome testaments to what a giving, sharing, unifying person he lived as. An amazing life because he left God be in control.
My sister’s that I traveled with both expressed a desire to live “more like Tim”. When we yield to God, so much can be done through us!
There are some heart aches involved in Tim’s story: his youngest child graduated 2 days after his death. James was given the strength to stand before a totally packed field house and deliver his valedictorian speech. It wasn’t the same one his dad had been help in with. It was a bit of a tribute to his dad. James received a standing ovation. Tim’s oldest still plans to wed this summer, but Dad won’t be the person to officiate. Tim’s middle child (Rachel) seems to be withdrawing. Understandable, but concerning. His wife has had several battles with brain cancer. She is vibrantly healthy at the moment, but her mind has been affected by the treatments. And then there are all the people in the area where he lived who loved him and whom he visited or listened to or the clergy he organized as chaplain for an area hospital. And now after almost 20 years with Tim as their pastor; there is a church in Michigan without a pastor, leader, shepherd.
I do keep praying for others to step up and take their turn now that he is gone. I choose not to believe in the power of the devil. He is powerful, but I choose not to believe in him as a winner in this situation. I believe that God IS in control and Tim’s death was not a mistake and God didn’t “loose a round to Satan”.
God will use this in a mighty way! Glory be to God!

    1. Gabriel says:

So touching…. May His soul rest in the bossom of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Tough times dont last but tough people do.
