What’s Next with Natalie: Breakfast on the Farm

On “Mornings With Dave & Natalie,” we asked for your help compiling a bucket list for my first summer in Madison – and boy, did you deliver! I plan to check off many of your suggestions throughout the summer – and beyond – and write about my experiencesYou can also follow along on Life 102.5’s Facebook and Instagram pages, where I’ll be posting as I go. Thanks for helping to make my first Madison-area summer a memorable one!

OK, so this very popular bucket-list submission wasn’t technically in the Madison area, but I missed Dane County’s Breakfast on the Farm earlier this month while I was on vacation, so I was excited to see that the one in Marinette County was happening when we were up north for our annual family reunion with my in-laws over the weekend. We thought it would be a perfect activity for the six kids among us to enjoy (and adults, too!) and let me just say … it was an UDDERly good time.

We decided to get there as soon as it opened at 7:30 a.m. to beat the crowds … but HOLY COW they were a lot of people with the same idea!

A tasty spread for Breakfast on the Farm!

Breakfast was no joke: yummy pancakes, eggs, cheese curds (fresh and fried), apple sauce, yogurt and more! Even my 5-year-old picky eater ate everything on his plate and then some.

After breakfast, we went to the petting zoo and took a tour of the farm cow barns, manure pit and all! Many nearby farms had also loaned tractors to the cause, so the kids loved climbing on those. My oldest also loved learning about all the machinery on display and kept telling people his favorite part was the “inventions.”

We were there for two hours, and I didn’t even make it to the ice cream and iced coffee tent or the inflatables. There was just so much to do!

Side note: I definitely didn’t have the proper footwear with me it was either Birkenstock sandals or white tennis shoes in my suitcase but I was grateful I had my cozy Life 102.5 fleece jacket to keep me warm!

Anyway, what a fun, Wisconsin tradition! I hope to make it to the one(s) in our area next year.

In the meantime, what should I do next?
