I am a high school drop out. I am also a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Growing up, I was a straight A student, but socially awkward. I loved animals and dreamed of being a veterinarian. When I got to high school, more than anything, I wanted friends. I made bad choices, got involved in drugs and alcohol and dropped out as a freshman. Fast forward six years…I met my husband while I was working at a deli. His support allowed me to get my GED and go to college. Even though I had no high school diploma, I worked hard and got accepted to the UW School of Veterinary Medicine. I have had a very successful and satisfying career. I firmly believe that God’s plan for me involved my work as a veterinarian and despite my attempts to take lesser paths, He knew my heart and made a way. I am forever grateful to Him.
