On April 19th 2016, our 6 year old son Cayden was diagnosed with Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura ( ITP ). This basically means he is unable to keep platelets in his blood. Cayden has had 5 transfusions and had numerous rounds of prednisone. Since Cayden has had ITP for more than 6 months, he is now known as chronic. His hematologist says that Cayden will have ITP the rest of his life. However, we do not believe that this is true. We believe the Lord performs miracles everyday. We believe that Cayden will be healed.
Cayden is now 7. His love for the Lord amazes me every day. Just an awesome little guy. The sad thing about ITP is when the platelet count is low he can’t do any contact activities. He loves football, wrestling, baseball, climbing trees, riding his scooter and his bike. Unfortunately, he is unable to do any of these things. Cayden’s platelets are low most of the time, except after he gets an infusion. Then he is in remission for around 3 weeks. He just had his 5th infusion on Friday July 14th.
I am begging for prayer right now. I am praying constantly that they come up with a cure. It seriously kills me inside when I tell Cayden that he can’t do most things. He wasn’t able to go on his 1st grade field trip. That was so hard on him. Daddy took the day off that day to play with him. They went fishing.
I am also begging for prayer because I have allowed ITP to control my life. I can’t seem to let it go and let God take over. ITP and Cayden is on my mind seriously all day everyday. I feel as if ITP controls my life. I need serious prayer. It is affecting my relationship with the Lord, my husband, and my 4 children. I know it’s not fair but I just can’t let it go!
Cayden ( remember he is only 7) had decided that he wants to ” pay it forward to the PDSA. ( platelet disorder support association. He (with my help) is planning a 5K walk/run to raise funds for research and awareness. He’s doing an amazing job. He’s getting sponsors and donations. He decided that he wants everyone there to win a prize. We are out asking for lots of donations. We also are looking for sponsors. I will attach the link in case you are interested. Please pray that Cayden can meet his goal. I have no idea where he came up with this goal. His goal is to raise $4,000 for this walk. He’s pretty determined.
It is music to my ears when we are in the car and he is singing Christian music playing from Life 102,5, It just makes my day.
Again…. Please pray for Cayden to be able to keep fighting ITP, Please pray for myself to let go and let God, and last but not least, please pray that Cayden can reach his goal for his fund raiser that is happening on September 9th 2017 in Beloit WI. We would love to see you all.

CAYDEN’S MAIN SAYING IS I HAVE ITP-ITP DOESN’T HAVE ME!

The following site is the site for Cayden’s ITP walk. Please take a peak!

God has you in this, Jennifer. Never forget that. I will pray along with many others that you have touched by sharing your story. Your courage is uplifting. When you are depleted lean on God; He is right there to share the load.
