Walking in the light of Christ
By: Live the Promise
So you’ve just accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, now what?
While the moment of conversion is important, our who lives are designed to be lived for Christ, not just one moment. Luis Palau explains,
“This is not something that happened in the past. No, it affects us every day, every evening, every morning, and we have to learn to live in the light of the fact that our Father in Heaven is a holy God and He calls us to live in the light which means that we live in the light of God’s Word.”
What happens if we stumble even after we’ve accepted Christ?
“We will stumble along the way no question. Sometimes in big ways sometimes in small ways. We need to constantly be saying, Lord forgive me once again, cleanse me and wash me, I want to walk in the light.”
The more awake we are to the reality of God’s holiness, the more we realize our need for a savior. When we confess our sin and seek to change, we are walking in the light.
“It makes you stay away from sin and evil because you hate it. In the book of Psalms, it says, those of you who love God hate evil. The closer you are to the light, the more you see your wrinkles and spots and you want to be cleansed.”
When we choose not to live in the light, we feel defeated.
“We miss out on one of the greatest privileges of being a child of God and that is to be able to enter God’s presence with a sense of awe and greatness.”
When we don’t walk in the light, we stumble around and we can’t find out footing. God is ready and waiting for us to enter His presence with a willing heart to be cleansed.
